Kolloquium: Zur Produktion und Rezeption jüdischer Kultur in Deutschland
By examining a wide range of musical and non-musical materials this seminar aims at a general understanding of interculturality through the specific cases of the klezmer revival and the construction of Jewish culture in Germany. The seminar will be conducted by Alan Bern, musical director of Brave Old World, whose work both as artist and theoretician is an exploration of interculturality. The languages of instruction will be English and German. A reader will be distributed in April.
