The likely second term of office for the present Labour government in Britain represents an opportunity for Tony Blair and his government to be less cautious and more radical in terms of their policies. To what extent will Blair take this opportunity to lead Britain towards a future defined by the policies of Third Way or will the record of his government remain one of opportunities missed and incremental rather than major change? Will the first landslide victory of 1997 represent merely the first chapter or instead the end of the story?'

Dr. David Broughton:
Studium an den Universitäten Sussex, Strathclyde, Konstanz und Essex, Tätigkeit an den Universitäten Glasgow, Essex und Sheffield, seit 1991 Mitglied des Lehrkörpers der School of European Studies an derUniversität Cardiff.
